For five consecutive years, Zoned Sports Academy has run a charity golf outing raising money for the Zoned Scholarship Fund. This charity golf outing, held at New Jersey National Golf Club in Basking Ridge, NJ. In the 12 years that the scholarship has been in place, Zoned Sports Academy with the help of sponsors and donors has raised over $128,000!

The Velocity Plus Throwing Program was designed to increase velocity and assist in preventing arm injuries through specific exercises. The Velo Program was originated to REDUCE injuries in the arms of baseball players’. We believe that, through the Velo Program, the shoulder becomes healthier and stronger resulting in increased pitch velocity.

2018 Zoned Battery Showcase
Its that time of year again, and we are getting ready for this years event! This years Battery Showcase will be on Wednesday June 6th at 6:30 pm at Zoned Sports Academy. We are going to have approximately 30 Collegiate Coaches in attendance including and not limited to: Rutgers, Princeton, Monmouth, Fordham and more!
2018 Zoned Scholarship
The Zoned scholarship is a yearly scholarship program put in place to assist college bound baseball and softball players. It was formed to help student-athletes with college expenses (books, meal plan, room & board). It has been in place since 2007, and each year has awarded $10,000.00, divided up among 6 deserving athletes. Since its inception, Zoned has given out over $100,000 worth of scholarships!

Velocity Plus Class Recap
This was the biggest and best class we have ever had in the 3 years we have been running it and we hope to get bigger and better when the next class is launched! With 47 athletes this year we surpassed our total of 105 mph as a class in the winter of 2017 to amounting an incredible 155 mph as a group!!!!! Not only are we throwing harder but we will have athletes that will be strong and healthy all season long. Good luck this season!

Winter Velo + Class
The Velocity Plus Throwing Program was designed to increase velocity and assist in preventing arm injuries through specific exercises. The Velo Program was originated to REDUCE injuries in the arms of baseball players’, and will be run by Dave Dickerson and Carlos Ruiz. We believe that, through the Velo Program, the shoulder becomes healthier and stronger resulting in increased pitch velocity.

RedHawks Soar on Saturday & Sunday
It was a very successful weekend for the Zoned RedHawks as 4 teams came home with a tournament or USABL League Championship. Nick Marcucci’s 9U Team and Mike Marcucci’s 12US Team both took home the USABL League Championship. In addition Duke Baxter’s 12UE won the USABL Super Elite World Series. To top it off, Ray Navarette’s 16UE Team won the Fraizer World Series. Lou Colon’s 17U Showcase Team also put up a valiant effort, as they finished in the top 2 of 40 teams that played down in the Perfect Game Super 25 Tournament.

Interview With Zoned Athlete Robbie Price
Robby Price is entering his senior season at the Delbarton School in Morristown, NJ where he will be returning as one of their top arms in 2017. Price spent his 2016 season at the IMG Academy in Bradenton, FL to help further his baseball and academic skills before returning to New Jersey for his Senior season. Robby is currently committed to play at Tulane University beginning in the fall of 2017. Over his 3-year career at Delbarton, Robby has amassed a 10-3 record, 3.0 era and 62 total strikeouts. Coach Romanella sat down with Robby to discuss his high school career, committing to Tulane and how Zoned Sports has helped him get to the next level.

ZONED’s 3rd Annual Battery “Pitchers and Catchers” Showcase Event
On Monday, February 23rd, ZONED hosted their 3rd Annual Battery Showcase. This event brought out the 70 best pitchers and catchers in the New Jersey area to showcase their skills in front of 30+ College Coaches and Programs to go along with five Major League Baseball Scouts.

Zoned RedHawk Night 2016 was a ton of fun! 160 players and 11 teams gathered this evening to kick off the #RedHawk season the right way. Develop, Compete, Dominate!
Raritan Valley Community College 2016 Season Preview
The Raritan Valley Community College Lions will look to continue to take steps forward this season under 2nd year Head Coach Andrew Romanella. In 2015, the Lions finished with a record of 5-22 eclipsing the previous season win total of 3.
Drew University Season Preview
The 2016 season looks bright for the Drew University Program and the Rangers will be led by two returning All Landmark Conference Players, outfielder Mike Di’Donato and catcher Mike Miragia. Di’Donato hit .391 in 2015 with 5 2B, 16RBI and Miragia finished with a .376 avg. 9 2B and 18 RBI.

2nd Annual Zoned Sports Academy Signing Day
Zoned Sports Academy, located in Bridgewater, NJ hosted its 2nd annual Signing Day for all of the graduating seniors heading into their freshman year of college next fall. The goal for Zoned Signing Day is to give every student-athlete a chance to “sign.”
Zoned Second Annual Signing Day Recap!
Someone recently asked me, “What started the Zoned Signing Day?” As one of my students and I were walking out of the hitting cage after a lesson, she was asked where she was going to school. She explained that she was going to play at Boston College and the signing day was to be held at her school the following day. This particular student-athlete had been training at Zoned for over eight years and practically grew up at the facility. That’s when she commented, “It would be cool if I signed here at Zoned!” I immediately thought it was a great idea and decided to put together the annual “Zoned Signing Day”.
2nd Annual Zoned Scholarship Scramble was a Huge Success!
Zoned Sports Academy, located in Bridgewater, NJ hosted its 2nd Annual Scholarship Scramble at New Jersey National Golf Club on Monday, October 19th. For the second straight year, Zoned held this event to raise money for its Zoned Scholarship Program.

The day started out with college coaches showing up by 7:30am. Eleven Division 1, One Division 2, and Ten Division 3 coaches in attendance for the entire event.
Zoned RedHawks Recap Week 6
On Saturday the 9U team won bringing their record to 7-1 in the USABL helping them stay at the top of the standing. After a good start to the weekend, the 9’s turned around and played in the Frazier Halloween Havoc tournament in Jackson, NJ where they made a great run to the championship game.

ZONED Redhawk Week 3 Review
The 9U Elite team dropped their only contest of the weekend by the score of 4-2 against Hit and Run Baseball. A costly second inning which saw Hit and Run score 4 to take a 4-0 lead was the icing on the cake.

Zoned Sports Academy Coach Ray Navarrete Has #16 Jersey Retired
>On Sunday August 16th, just two years after his retirement from professional baseball the Long Island Ducks retired Ray Navarrete’s #16 Jersey prior to the start of their game against the Southern Maryland Blue Crabs.
Jack’s Kids
For over 22 years the Somerville Elks Lodge 1068 has run a charity softball game to raise money and awareness for Jack’s Kids, a 501c3 organization dedicated to helping kids and their families with expenses and issues related to childhood illness and disabilities.
Zoned Redhawk Weekend Recap (July 10th – July 12th)
10U went 2-1 in pool play at the Monroe Tournament during the week which helped them earn a playoff berth. With that playoff berth the 10’s took advantage and made it to the Finals on Monday night dropping a tough contest and coming away with a runner-up finish.
Zoned Redhawk Weekend Recap (July 3rd – July 5th)
10U won their 3rd championship of the summer over the weekend and the second championship in as many weekends going 4-0 and outscoring their opponents 54-13 while hitting a smoking hot .523 as a team. The 10’s look to continue the winning ways with another tournament this weekend in ECTB

Ron Scott threw a no-hitter and struck out 14 batters in the Class 4A State Championship baseball game in 1989 to give Sarasota its second title in three seasons.
July 21st Zoned Softball In The News
The sports cycle consists of practice, compete and debrief. This hitting class is designed to reflect on your most recent performance and devise strategies to improve for the next game technically and tactically. Coaches will analyze the athletes mechanics and approach at the plate and come up with strategies for success and goals for the next game.
July 7th Zoned In The News
Over the weekend of July 4th, both the Zoned Redhawk Elite 14U Black and 13U teams came away with tournament championships in dominating fashion. The Redhawks Black team went 5-0 in the Brick July 4th explosion tournament scoring a total of 38 runs in 5 games.

June 16th Zoned In The News
Zoned Sports Academy has announced the winners of its 7th Annual $10,000 Baseball/Softball Scholar-Athlete Scholarship Awards. Scholarships are awarded to athletes in recognition of their athletic accomplishments, educational success and work within their communities. These scholarships are applicable to each recipient’s first year of matriculation.
June 9th Zoned In The News
North Hunterdon Softball defeats Hillsborough High School by the score of 6-4 over the weekend to take the NJSIAA Group 4 State Championship. Some of Zoned Sports very own took the field in Alyssa Vandaveer of Hillsborough and Carly Severini of North Hunterdon.
May 12th RedHawks Recap + Players of the Week
As the USABL season begins to wind down, the Zoned Redhawks are looking to keep the momentum going as they get set to begin tournament play on Memorial Day Weekend. This past Sunday, both 14U teams did just that. The Black team continued their winning ways with a 9-3 victory over the Union County Seminoles.
May 5th RedHawks Recap + Players of the Week
The Zoned Redhawks Elite continued USABL this play this weekend with four games between the three teams. The 14U Redhawks Red lost a heartbreaker to the NJ Shamrocks, falling 5-2 after fighting back to load the bases in the bottom of the 7th.

The Zoned Redhawks program turned in another successful performance this weekend after taking some time off for the holiday weekend. Both the 13U and 14U Black teams were faced with tough double-header tests this past Sunday, April 28th.

The Zoned Redhawks Red took on the Redhawks Black in Bridgewater for the Battle at Prince Rodgers. It was a tight well played game for both teams. The Redhawks Red got on the board first when Brandon Radice led off with a double and advanced to third on a wild pitch.
The Zoned RedHawks Soar on Opening Day
The Zoned Redhawks kicked off the 2014 spring season in a big way this past weekend with four wins throughout the program. The 13U team, as well as both 14U teams, were all in action on Sunday in the opening games of the USABL season.
